IA-HEV welcomes countries and organizations that will both benefit from and contribute to the sharing of information and resources on hybrid and electric vehicles.

As more models of plug-in electric vehicles reach the commercial marketplace, the role of the private sector within IA-HEV is growing. Several Tasks (projects on special topics) include industry experts along with IA-HEV’s traditional participation from governmental and research organizations. Examples include:
  • Task 10 (Electrochemical Systems) held a workshop on the recycling of plug-in electric vehicle batteries that was hosted by Umicore and also included representatives of other companies.

  • As part of Germany’s membership in IA-HEV, experts from companies such as Daimler, Bosch, Continental Automotive, and Siemens will be participating in several Tasks.

  • The newest IA-HEV project, Task 20 (Quick Charging), will include input from the automaker Nissan. Participation from the utility sector and other automotive companies will help to define relevant workshop topics.
