Task 9, Clean City Vehicles

Ongoing Tasks

Clean City Vehicles for Developing Countries

Completed Tasks

Programme of Work

Air quality in large urban cities is directly linked to vehicle emissions along with other factors. Task 9 began in 2000. Sharing best practices and technology transfer between industrialized and developing nations was chosen for the Task topic.

Working Method

Task 9 studied the application of clean vehicle and fuel technologies in developing countries. Growing urban populations and the need for mass transit require new solutions to improve air quality and reduce pollution from road traffic. Workshops were held to bring stakeholders together from industrialized and developing nations.

Member Countries

Participating countries included Bangladesh, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Indonesia, India, Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, and Thailand.
