Protecting the information and personal data you provide us and the privacy of visitors to our website (, the “IA-HEV website”) is of utmost importance to the IA-HEV. This privacy policy explains the information the IA-HEV may collect from you and how we may use this information. We undertake to ensure that any personal information you provide us remains private and is used only for the specific purpose for which it was collected and in strict accordance with this privacy policy.

Collection of non-personal information

IA-HEV utilizes web measurement technology in order to improve our website and provide a better user experience for our customers. IA-HEV does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII). This technology anonymously tracks how visitors interact with, including where they came from, what they did on the site, and whether they completed any pre-determined tasks while on the site.
This technology is provided by Google Analytics and the information collected is used to optimize our website; helping us determine top tasks, improve our user interface and diversify our content offerings to meet the needs of our customers. No personally identifiable information is collected, so the anonymity of the end user is protected. The measurement data that is collected is only retained for as long as is needed for proper analysis and optimization of the website and is accessible only to employees whose position necessitates it.
Since disabling this web measurement technology requires modifying individual browser settings, it is enabled by default. Google provides a browser plug-in that will allow you to opt-out of all Google Analytics measurements, which you can find at Please note that opting-out in no way effects your access to content within or how you see the site.

Notice of Automatic Collection of Information and Persistent Multi-Session Measurement on Website

Some websites use the technology called a cookie. A cookie is a small file that a website transfers to your computer to allow it to remember specific information about your session while you are connected. Your choice

Registering on the IA-HEV website is optional. If you choose not to register or provide personal information, you can still use the IA-HEV website. However, you will not be able receive email alerts. If you choose to register, the information will be used only for the specific stated purpose and will never be disclosed to third parties. You can choose at any time to unsubscribe from the website by sending an email to and your name and email address will be deleted from these registers.

We won't use your personal information to contact you for marketing purposes (other than to notify you of new publications or online services, as outlined below) or to promote new services to you. However we (or someone we specifically engage for this purpose) may use your personal information to contact you to help us improve our products, services or content, and we may transfer your personal information to such other person for this purpose.

Third party websites

We are committed to keeping your information confidential; however, we sometimes use third parties to provide services on our behalf.  For example, distribution of notifications and newsletters may be carried out through a third party email dispatch service. Please note that where our website contains links to third party websites, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and this privacy policy applies solely to personal information collected by the IA-HEV.

Other information you provide us

If we ask you to provide us with your personal information in any another context, we undertake to use that information only for the stated purposes. We will not use the information for any other purpose without your consent. For example, we will not provide your personal information to third parties unless that is one of the stated purposes for its collection and if it is not, we will not provide it to third parties unless we have your consent.   


We take precautions to safeguard your personal data against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We will continue to enhance our security procedures as new technology becomes available.

Terms and Conditions IA-HEV

1.   Use of any data or statistics publication that IA-HEV provides in the form of a paper-copy book or in a digital form constitutes an agreement between the IA-HEV and the subscriber as well as the subscriber’s and each user’s acceptance of the following terms and conditions and the IA-HEV’s  disclaimer.

2.   IA-HEV Data is subject to copyright by the IA-HEV. The subscriber is responsible for any breach of copyright it or its users may commit.

3.   Portions of the IA-HEV Data may contain material or information copyrighted by a third party. If the subscriber or its user(s) wish to reproduce any such material, it must obtain the necessary permission from the copyright owner.

4.   The subscriber and it user(s) may not sell any of the IA-HEV Data.

5.   A given user may use the IA-HEV Data and, where possible, download the IA-HEV Data for the internal purposes of his/her organization only.

6.   The following forms of copying are permitted and do not require the prior written permission of the IA-HEV:

a.    Officials representing departments or ministries of International Energy Agency Member countries may access IA-HEV Data for official purposes and reproduce, distribute and/or store the IA-HEV Data within their government (government departments/ ministries only) on condition that the government/officials comply with the obligations of the subscribers/users in articles 1-8 of these terms and conditions;

b.    All other subscribers and users may issue a public statement which refers to a given data point within the IA-HEV Data, provided such statements are issued on an infrequent and occasional basis.

7.   If the user has the right to reproduce certain portions of IA-HEV Data in accordance with these terms and conditions, the user must ensure that all such material or information is clearly attributed to the IA-HEV, and bears a notation that it is copyrighted by the IA-HEV, with the year of the copyright and /or the publication from which it was taken (i.e., [name of publication] © IA-HEV, [year of publication if applicable]).

8.   For any other use of the IA-HEV Data, including but not limited to the publication or transmission of portions of IA-HEV Data to any third parties via any medium, the subscriber must obtain the prior written consent of the IA-HEV (click here to send a request).
